Last Saturday the Write 31 Days challenge was kicked off and hundreds of bloggers (including myself) made it their goal to write daily for the month of October. It is a lovely community over there, and I’ve enjoyed poking around at the different topics and series being written on. Here are a few favorites:
31 Days: Create on Grace Oasis “My own heart is crying out to create, but is limited in its freedom. Maybe you know the struggle. As creatives, Fear, Sadness, Anger and Disgust cause us to stumble, often capturing our intentions and keeping us bound. Well, I’m done being exhausted from a pointless fight.”
31 Days of Everyday Beautiful by Sarah Jo Burch “I’m simply challenging myself to seek beauty every day. That may just be a photo, a quote, a song – or a longer post if I have more to say. Grace. Lots of grace.”
Intentionally Authentic on Joyfully Ruined “Each day will hold something new, all stemming at its core of being intentionally authentic. Expect weekly challenges. Topics about embracing who you are and what we are designed for in community. I am thrilled to have you here.”
I came close to not participating in this challenge. I sat on my couch on the evening of October first, my landing page having already been created and my ideas formed, thinking maybe I wouldn’t do this after all. But it has been a refreshing practice for me, and I delighted to practice the art of being present. If you missed the first week you can find links over here, as well as journey with me as I continue to notice the moments of everyday life. Enter your email address at the bottom of this page to have updates sent directly to your inbox or click here to find all the writings in one place.
Among all the writers in the world, among all the blogs there are to read, among all the books that might line your bookshelf, I continue to find the greatest inspiration and refreshment from Ann Voskamp. Her newest book, The Broken Way, is just a few weeks from being released. It won’t be one you want to miss. She’s also compiled a gift list – a daily idea of ways to give forward to others. Perhaps all of us could use a little more kindness this October.
Happy Weekend, friends!
